The most personal music-disk ever.

--- Why --------------------------------------------------------------------

Back in 1993 the 2 musicians JSL and Overlord composed a lot of techno-
modules but due to the size, CIA-timing and often quite hard beats, they
were rarely used in demos. The coder called Tome wanted to show his
appreciation of the work by doing a music-disk in this style. Because of
the onedisk floppy-loader, Rave Generator 1 only contained 5 modules and
thus leaving a lot unused.

We decided that it was time to release the leftovers, so now a bit more
than a year after the death of Focus Design, THE GROUP FORMERLY KNOWN AS
FOCUS DESIGN releases the second part of Rave Generator.

There will never come a part 3 since there do not exist more unused
original JSL/Overlord-modules.

--- The design -------------------------------------------------------------

The intro is quite inspired by the endpart in the PC-demo 303 by Acme.
We wanted to do something similar that would run smoothely on standard
A1200 so the solution was: 20 64x64 3bpls randomized bobs.

In some of the modules a classic sound appears and back in the days where
they were composed this lead to the nick-name: Støvsuger-techno
(vacuum-cleaner-techno). Optima and Corial agreed that it would create an
amusing setting if we included a vacuum-cleaner-picture in the
main-environment. Nilfisk(tm) is a fine product from Denmark.

--- How to customize -------------------------------------------------------

What do we mean by "a personal music-disk". We mean that you are able to
customize it! Yes, you can decide which modules you want to be available
in the selector. Why on earth would I want to do that? Well, if there are
some modules you don't like or you don't have much RAM, you can set up a
menu suited for your taste or configuration.

The file RG2.cfg is initially set to the values: 0,1,2,3,4,5,6,7,*

The numbers refer to the modules (in the order used in the module-info-
part) and the * is equal to EOF.

You may edit the RG2.cfg-file and save it under the same label, but there
are some rules:

- you must choose at least one module,
- you may only choose a module once,
- you must remember the *,
- the order in the RG2.cfg-file will be used in the selector,
- do not add text in any way to the RG2.cfg-file

Please note:

No checks are included so if you are an idiot the system will crash.

--- Tech-stuff -------------------------------------------------------------

The chipRAM for the modules is allocated dynamically based upon the
selections in the RG2.cfg-file. The selected modules are then loaded into
the allocated buffers prior to start-up.

If the system fails to allocate the needed space for a module, it will
be skipped and will not appear in the selector-menu even if it appears
in the RG2.cfg-file.

Standard A1200 users will have to re-configure to hear the module
"Strings of life" (443354 bytes).

AGA/fastRAM is not needed but if fastRAM is available, it will be used.

Successfully tested on: A1200 - Standard
A1200 - 68020 28.5 MHz 4 Mb fast
A1200 - 68030 50 MHz 16 Mb fast
A1200 - 68060 50 MHz 16 Mb fast

This selector will run from floppy if you customize your version to an
amount of module-data equal to the capacity of a floppy-disk, copy the
selected modules and the selector-file to the disk and boot from it.

Thanks must go to Data Becker for "Amiga maskinsprog".

--- Disclaimer ------------------------------------------------------------

The original RG2.cfg settings are: 0,1,2,3,4,5,6,7,* and this is the way
it must be spread. Any customization is for personal use only.

Use this product at you own risk. The group formerly known as Focus Design
disclaims the responsibility for damage caused by Rave Generator 2.

You may gain all the profit you can on behalf of this product, but it
would be nice if you remembered who did all the ones and zeros.
